During his entire life, he was a resident of Tyler. At the age of six years he started to Marsh School in the first grade room of Mrs. Sam Goodman. After graduating from Marsh School he entered Roberts Jr. High where he received the honor of being selected to attend Camp Audoburn in Colorado in the summer of 1938.
