☆~ VETERAN, WORLD WAR II (1939-1945) ~☆ PLAINVIEW - Services for Willard Naprste, 80, Plainview, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, at St. Paul's Catholic Church here. The Revs. James Schrader and James Buckley will officiate with burial in Pleasant View Cemetery. Mr. Naprstek died Friday, March 23, 2001, at his home. The son of William and Olga (Manasil) Naprstek was born Jan. 15, 1921, at Elba. He attended St. Ludger's School in Creighton and Creighton University in Omaha, graduating in 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-46 on the Navy hospital ship, U.S.S. Samaritan, as a lieutenant in the Pacific during World War II. He married Dorothy Kratochvil on Oct. 6, 1947, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Osmond. He purchased Kokrda Drug Store in 1951, serving the Plainview community for 33 years. He continued doing relief work until this year. ----- His middle name is more commonly spelled Aloysius than Aloyius. Mr. Naprstek was the 1986 recipient of the Plainview Outstanding Citizen Award. He was co-chair of the Plainview Centennial Welcome Headquarters and a member of the Plainview Klown Band at the time of his death. He served as chairman of the Creighton University Alumni Association in 1973 and was awarded Boss of the Year in 1974. He was preceded in death by his wife. Source: Norfolk Daily News, March 2001
