Published in the Ord Quiz, Ord, Nebraska, Thursday, March 8, 1973, Page 1, Column 2 Obituary of Mamie Koncel Funeral services for Mamie Koncel, 48, were held Mar. 4 at Comstock. Mrs. Koncel died Mar. 4 at the Sargent Community Hospital. The Rev. Robert Frescoln conducted the 2 pm rites at the United Methodist Church. Interment was in National Cemetery. Mrs. Koncel was the daughter of Joe and Mary Pravecek Pesek. She was born Oct. 5, 1924 in Valley county and attended school at District #53 in Valley County. On July 17, 1944 she and John Koncel were married at Broken Bow. Their home for 26 years has been on a farm near Comstock. Mrs. Koncel was a member of the Jolly Pitch Club and the Southside Birthday club. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. Survivors are her husband, John; brothers Jim Pesek of Loup City, Adolph Pesek, Comstock, Joe Pesek and Ed Pesek, Ord; sisters Mary Shimek of Gering, Lillie Paider, Comstock, Rosie Pesek and Lydia Chalupa, Ord, and Irene Koncel, Comstock.
