ORD — Rosie Pesek, 94, of Ord died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Valley View Living Center in Ord. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Ord Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Doug Olson officiating. Burial will be in the National Bohemian Cemetery west of Ord. Ms. Pesek was born June 26, 1920, west of Ord, in Valley County to Joseph and Mary (Pravecek) Pesek. She was raised on the family farm and attended the Pleasant Valley rural school. At a young age, Rosie fell from a horse and became disabled. She lived with her parents until 1965, when her parents both passed away. She then made her home with her brothers and sisters. Rosie later lived at the Wajda Rest Home, Grandview Assisted Living and recently Valley View Living Center. Rosie enjoyed attending church; spending time with family; and attending family functions. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mary (Mrs. Eddie) Pesek; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, James, Johnny, Joseph, Adolph, and Eddie; and six sisters, Lydia Chalupa, Mary Shiemek, Emma Bruha, Lillie Paider, Mamie Koncel and Irene Koncel.
