Funeral Services Thursday Afternoon Mrs. Anna Skala passed peacefully into eternal rest Monday morning at 10 o'clock, following a brief illness of one week. She suffered a stroke of paralysis on the preceding Monday and her strength slowly ebbed from her during the following week. Up until the time she was stricken she had enjoyed good health in spite of her advanced age of 89 years. Anna Victoria Skala nee Hubenka was born in Cechoslovakia on July 26, 1843. At the age of 12 years she came to America with her parents settling in Wisconsin. Here she grew to womanhood and in 1864 she was united in marriage to Mr. Ignac Skala. Here she grew to womanhood and in 1864 she was united in marriage to Mr. Ignac Skala. In the year 1865 they moved to Nebraska settling 5 miles, west of the present site of West Point Later they moved to the farm north of Dodge, from where, after years of patient toil and self-denial, they were able to move to Dodge in retirement, in the year 1911 to spend their remaining days; in deserving rest Mr. Skala passed to his reward Feb. 19, 1927. Surviving her are four children, Mrs. Anna Kempf of Schuyler, Eman Skala, Howells, Adolph Skala, Dodge and John Skala of Fennimore, Wisconsin. Three children, Mrs. Mary Srb, Mrs. Lizzie Slama and an infant child preceded her in death. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. - Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 11, at 1:30 p. m. a the Skala home. Rev. Filippi of Clarkson will. officiate. Burial will be made in the Bohemian National cemetery.
