The Malvern Leader 17 December 1953 Hold Last Rites for Mrs. Granteer Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Wesley Chapel church for Ella Granteer with the Rev. Chas. D. Likely officiating. Mrs. Merle Hayes sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Garden of Prayer," accompanied by Mrs. Elaine Rodenburg. Flower ladies were Jean Peterson, Norma Granteer and Beverly Granteer. Otto Menschel, Dale Kempton, Ray Kelley, Clifford Allely, Ray Plumb and Ellsworth Smith acted as pall bearers. Lynn Parker and Marion Wilson were ushers. Interment was made in the Wesley Chapel cemetery with Mansfield Funeral home in charge. The following obituary was read at the service: Ella Blanche Kelley, daughter of John and Jane Kelley, was born at Hastings, in Mills county, Nov. 10, 1874 and passed away at the Murphy Memorial hospital in Red Oak, Dec. 11, 1953 at the age of 79 years, one month and one day. She was one of a family of seven children. A sister and two brothers having preceded her in death. On Oct. 10, 1900 she was united in marriage to H. R. Granteer. They went to housekeeping on the farm on which they lived at the time of her death. Five children were born to this union. One daughter, Geraldine, died in infancy. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Jay Winslow of Hastings and Mrs. Gordon Rockafellow of Evanston, Ill.; two sons, Marvin K. and Werden E., both of Hastings; three brothers, Charley Kelley of Hastings, John of Council Bluffs and G. C. of Omaha. Six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive her as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was a loving wife and mother and devoted her entire life to her home and family.
