Bio

William Dyches was born August 20, 1858, son of Joseph Josiah Dyches and Elizabeth (Lewis) Dyches. He was murdered July 8, 1890, aged 31 years, 11 months & 18 days, and was buried in the McFadin Cemetery, Circleville, Williamson County, Texas. Williamson County Court Records reveal that William was killed by "Fisher and his pardner, two horse thiefs." They were pursued and Fisher was killed. On August 27, 1877, William was united in marriage to Tabitha "Tabby" Allan May. Tabby was born May 16, 1859 in Mississippi, daughter of William May and Mary (Henry) May. She died Feb. 13, 1941 in San Angelo, Texas, and was buried there in the Fairmount Cemetery. Their known children were: Gertrude born 24 Sep 1880 Josiah Allan 4 Oct 1882 Pinkney F. 24 Jul 1884 Willie Mae 21 Aug 1886 Clyde William 18 Jun 1888 All of the above children are buried in Fairmount Cemetery, San Angelo, Tom Green County, Texas. Josiah Allan Dyches was a former Texas Ranger who died in July 1970. In about 1918 he married Tillie Leon Roff. William and his family lived on a 1,000 acre ranch on Willis Creek. His gravestone was not found in the 2010 visit and this listing was taken from the original 1970 survey. William's sister, Cordell Curtis, is buried at Pottsville Cemetery Hamilton Texas.
