Archer Co., Texas Cemeteries Megargel Cemetery (Old Section) Cora Brown was the first wife of Shedric Hodges Haile. She died of blood poisoning at the home of her parents after giving birth to her third child. Shedric Hodges Haile is buried at Dumas, Potter Co, TX. I have a very dark record written by her husband Shedric Hodges Haile about the death of Cora Brown. "Hodges & Cora Haile 1911. Before our wedding my wife was Cora Brown of Megargel, Texas. We married the 5th Sunday in January 1911 at my mother's home near Afton, Texas. Dora died at the home of her folks near Megargel November the 19th, 1915 she wanted to be with her mother when her 3rd Baby was borned. 'Tincy/Tiney (?)' Tincy was borned Nov 11th She Cora had blood ...... and didn't last long. we was living at Channing, Texas. I was punching cows. I didn't go to Megargel with Cora Houston & Preston but a ..... She got real bad they sent me a .... and I got there the night of the 19th about four hours before she died." The ..... in the writing were words that I could not make out. The stone is obviously a newer stone. I CAN read the stone which says she died in 1950, but that is incorrect!!!!!! Shedric Hodges Haile married second Dora Alice Mills on 13 Aug 1918 in Dalhart, Dallam Co, TX. Cora Brown Haile died in 1915!!!! FAG Contibutor: 46852198
