James Gregory Woelfel, the son of Charles F. and Theresa R. (Kahnke) Woelfel, was born October 18, 1934 in Birch Coulee Township, Renville County, Minnesota. Jim lived his entire life on the home farm, receiving his education in Morton. In November of 1965 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Weyer and from this union were born twin daughters, Sheila and Sharon. The marriage later ended in divorce. Jim was very proud on his life as a farmer and even as late as this past summer, he was still helping to bale hay. Jim was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had been a long time member of the cemetery board. Since the death of his parents, he had taken over the responsibility as guardian of his siblings. Jim was a people person and enjoyed visiting with his friends at coffee or Jack Pot. To many locals he was known as the "egg man". Jim is survived by his daughter Sheila Robinson and her husband John of Franklin; granddaughters Sarah and Kate Robinson; special friend Annette Schmidt of Redwood Falls. Also surviving are siblings Paul (Jeanet) Woelfel of St. Paul, Lenus (Marlene) Woelfel of Bloomington, Charles, Rachel and David Woelfel of Olivia; Victor Woelfel of St. Paul and brother-in-law Harold Tersteeg of Olivia. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Sharon, brother Joseph and sister Irene Tersteeg. Blessed Be His Memory
