Rachel Marie Woelfel, age 82, of Olivia, Minnesota, died on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at her home. Visitation will be held at the Church of Sacred Heart in Franklin, Minnesota from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. following visitation. Burial to follow in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Birch Coulee Township, rural Franklin. Arrangements are with Nelson-Hillestad Funeral and Cremation Service of Redwood Falls. E-mail condolences may be sent via www.nelson-hillestad.com. Rachel Marie Woelfel , the daughter of Charles and Theresa (Kahnke) Woelfel was born on April 27, 1937 in Franklin, Minnesota. She lived most of her life in Birch Coulee Township near Franklin and attended Morton Public School. She worked as a homemaker and for ACTS. In 1996 she moved to Olivia. Rachel loved watching TV, reading, shopping, baking, going out to eat, caring for her mother, brothers, nieces and nephews and eating chocolates. Rachel is survived by her siblings, Lenus Woelfel of Bloomington, Minnesota and David Woelfel of Olivia, Minnesota; guardians, John and Shelia Robinson of Franklin; housemates, Jacob Funk and Aaron Schmitz; and many nieces and nephews. Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Theresa Woelfel; Siblings, Joe (Joan) Woelfel, Paul (Jeanet) Woelfel, Irene (Harold) Tersteeg, James Woelfel, Victor Woelfel, and sister-in-law, Marlene Woelfel.
