Bio

Minnie Jurasek Hlavinka , age 97, was born July 18, 1902 in Weimar to the late Anton and Louisa Richter Jurasek. She died April 16, 2000 at Polly Ryon Hospital in Richmond. She married Vincent (Jimmy) Hlavinka in January of 1928 in Needville and he preceded her in death. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and Ladies' Auxiliary of the American Legion. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Albert Jurasek. Survivors include sister Lena Dvoracek of Dallas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews. Services were held Tuesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard with Rev. Don Ruppert officiating. Burial followed at Holy Cross Mausoleum. Pallbearers were Rick Jalowy, David Jalowy, Russell Jurasek, Arnold Hlavinka, Joe Hlavinka, and Franklin Ferguson.
