Bio

Calvin was the son of Thomas Willis "Tommy" and Hila Florence Kite Lasiter. His parents are buried in Fields Chapel Cemetery. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from MoPac/Union Pacific Railroad where he worked as a carman. He was a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Antioch Baptist Church. He served on the Slocum School Board, Slocum Water Supply Board, and as director of MoPac Credit Union and the Farm Bureau. He married Blanche Elizabeth "Betty" Fenton Lasiter 11 December 1949. He was residing in Palestine at the time of his death there. He was survived by his wife; three daughters, Mary Ann Lasiter Foster of Grapeland, Karen Sue Lasiter Kerber of Palestine, and Kathy Louise Lasiter Nichols of Palestine; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Wednesday, 7 June 2006.
