Joe Hundl of Minerva died Sunday, July 20, 1975 in a Cameron hospital after having suffered a heart attack on Saturday, July 19. He attained the age of 72 years, 4 months and 22 days. Impressive last rites were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 23 in St. Monica Catholic Church, Cameron, with a funeral Mass offered by the Rev. Paul McCallum. Burial was in the Mineva Cemetery. Pallbearers were G.E. Hundl, Marvin, Ernest and John Horelica, all of Houston, Frank Robinson of Gladewater and Buddy Hart. Rosary was recited Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Marek-Burns Funeral Home Chapel, Cameron, where the body rested in state. Mr. Hundl, a retired carpenter, was born February 28, 1930 at Flatonia, Fayette County, Texas, son of Adolph F. and Frances (Mikes) Hundl, natives of Fayette County, Texas, and Czechoslovakia, respectively. As a young boy he came with his family to Shiner, later moving to Cameron where he married Miss Lillie Horelica, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Vince Horelica. For the past six years, they have been residing in Minerva. Mr. Hundl was an ardent reader of the Shiner Gazette and was always interest in his friends and relatives at Shiner. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillie Hundl of Minerva; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Geraldine) Robinson of Gladewater; two sons, Joe Jr. and Vince Hundl, both of Houston; five grandsons; a brother, Frank Hundl of Houston; four sisters, Mrs. Jacob J. (Annie) Vesely of Shiner, Mrs. Millie Horelica, Mrs. Ernest (Henrietta) Polzer and Miss Lillian Hundl, all of Cameron. Preceding him in death were his father, November 7, 1957; his mother, June 28, 1956; twin brothers in infancy; two sisters, Mary Hundl at the age of six years, and Hattie Hundl in infancy. A devoted husband, father and brother has entered eternal rest, leaving a vacancy in the family circle that can never be filled. Among those attending the funeral services were Mrs. J.J.
