Aubrey Virgil Sims, age 85, of Gun Barrell City, Texas, passed away September 21, 2006 at his home. He was born February 12, 1921 in Paris, Texas to Frank Virgil and Dona (Monk) Sims. Mr. Sims was a self-employed truck driver for over 25 years and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his children James Allen Sims of Vidor, Texas, Martha Evelyn Sims of Cache, Oklahoma, Frank Virgil Sims of Waxahachie, Texas, Sharon Sims of Seven Points, Texas, Edith Carolyn Novach of West Memphis, Arkansas and Nina Ruth DeChaume of Gun Barrell City, Texas; twenty-nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; sisters Mildred Fisher of Garland, Texas, Edith Edwards of McKinney, Texas and Lilian Harvey of Garland, Texas; brother Ralph Sims of DeKalb, Texas; special friend Viola Harder of Canton, Texas; and a host of other family and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters Helen Spinks, Lucille Tompkins, Doris Gibson and Marie Spawn; and brother Melvin Sims.
