Bio
Frank is the son of Joseph Danek and Rosina Pilgas. His parents did not immigrate to the United States. Frank married Anna Sykora (1860-1902) in 1877 and they had the first of at least eleven children before immigrating. Frank, Anna and Katy departed from Hamburg, Germany on November 9, 1883 and arrived in New York City on November 23, 1883. They then travelled by train immediately to Nebraska, where other family members had already settled. Anna made the ship/train voyage while pregnant, as second child Mary Lillian was born on January 24, 1884 in Nebraska. For unknown reasons, the family then moved to the Fayetteville, Texas area and that is where the remainder of their children were born. In 1890, Anna's mother Catherine Sykora immigrated to the United States and joined them. Anna Sykora Danek died on New Years Eve 1902. Church records confirm this date, but no record of burial has been found. Frank did not re-marry after Anna's death. By 1910, the five youngest living children were living with him in the Fayetteville area. The older ones had married and / or moved away. Around 1918, Frank moved with his daughter Anna and her husband, Frank Hubenak, to Austin County. He lived the rest of her life with that family. In 1936, Frank became a Naturalized Citizen of the United States and lived to be 93.
