Obit Courtesy Kathy Burr (#47226369) ORD — Leora E. Blaha, 72, of Ord died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, at Valley County Hospital in Ord. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord with the Rev. Tom Ryan officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ord Memorial Chapel and from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the church. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born Oct. 21, 1933, in Elgin to Frank and Emily (Dozler) Richart. On April 9, 1956, she married Richard Blaha in Neligh. Survivors include her husband; sons, Douglas of Belmont, Mich., James of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Jerry of Axtell; daughter, Christine Welliver of Pleasanton; brother, Kenneth Richart of Elgin; sister, Barbara Hansen of Norfolk; seven grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren. Additional survivors include her daughters-in-law, Jacki of Belmont, Terri of Council Bluffs and Jeanne of Axtell; and son-in-law, Douglas Welliver of Pleasanton. She was raised in Elgin and graduated from St. Boniface High School in Elgin. She worked as an operator for GTE in Neligh for 10 years. They lived in Franklin and Tilden, then moved to Kearney in 1963, where they lived until they retired in 1988. They bought a house in Lake Havasu, Ariz., where they lived for 14 years. For the past two years, they have lived in Ord. She was a member of the Kearney Fireman's Auxiliary, the Kearney Elks Club, the Kearney Eagles Club and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, reading, traveling, walking and spending time with grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Lori; a sister, Elaine Beckman; and a brother, Ronald Richart. ©Kearney Hub 2005
