Bio

Married Dorothy Margaret Ferguson on 12 Nov. 1946. They had five children. Mr. Garrett Funeral services for M.F.(Fred) Garrett, 70, of Lampasas were held Wednesday afternoon in the Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Chapel with the Rev. Burlie Taylor and Minister Reid Schaub officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas. Mr. Garrett died Monday in Seton Hospital in Austin. Born Sept. 15, 1919, in Fordtran, he married his wife, Dorothy, Nov. 12, 1946, in Roswell, N.M. Mr Garrett had been a resident of Lampasas for the past 21 years. He was a retired insurance salesman, a veteran of World War II and a member of First Baptist Church of Lampasas. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Garrett of Lampasas; two daughters, Melva Skeen of Fort Worth and Melanie Garrett of Lampasas; three sons, Larry Garrett of Lampasas; David Garrett of Waco and Phil Garrett of Camden, Ark.; a brother Narvel L. Garrett of Yoakum; two sisters, Martha B. Barnett and Mable J. Baker, both of Yoakum; and a number of nieces and nephews.
