DUMAS - Frances Nelson Shockley, 83, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with Steve Walker, minister of Ninth and Bliss Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Shockley was born April 5, 1919, in Shamrock. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Ninth and Bliss Church of Christ in Dumas. She married W.A. "Bill" Shockley on April 8, 1939, in Shamrock. She was a Moore County resident since 1941 and a Dumas resident since 1958. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 30, 2000. Survivors include two daughters, Sue Shockley of Euless and Anne Crain and husband, Bobby, of Dallas; three granddaughters, Cherry Philpot and husband, Stephen, of Shenandoah, Cindy Oglesby and husband, James, of Jamaica, Ill., and Charlotte Morris of Houston; two grandsons, Larry Morris and wife, Frances, of Wills Point and Felix Hernandez Jr. of Euless; and nine great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund, 302 E. Second St., Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 320 Bruce St., in Dumas.
