Son of George Thomas Moran and his wife Louisa E. Brown. Frank married Mabel Vance, a native of Burlington, on 5 July 1898 in Cook county, Illinois. They were the parents of one daughter, Virginia. Frank worked for the CB&Q railroad for over 20 years. At the time of his death, he was the conductor of way freight No. 95. After working 11 hours on the day of his death, Frank slipped while boarding the train at Bernhart. Both of his legs were severed above the ankles. He was taken to the hospital in Ottumwa, where he died, while his wife and daughter were en route on a special train. They arrived minutes after his passing. Frank was survived by his father, his wife and daughter, and two sisters, Mrs. Harry H. (Grace E.) Rynott and Mrs. Ella Groeting. He was preceded in death by his mother and two young siblings.
