Bio

When Fred Samuel Coffey was born on November 27, 1889, in McKinney, Texas, his father, Sterling Price Coffey, was 27 and his mother, Ida Elizabeth Rountree, was 22. Fred's siblings are Dudley Otto, Mary F., Hallie Lee and Laurien Price. Fred married Helen Gerrish in Collin, County on January 1,1914; together they raised twin daughters, Dorthy and Dorris, born July 10, 1920. Fred was a merchant in McKinney town; the owner-operator of the Coffey Pharmacy Drug Store with assistance from his wife Helen and his brothers. Fred passed at age 75 on August 10, 1965 after a good life and is resting at Forest Grove Cemetery, Collin, Texas.
