Beatrice Daily Sun (Beatrice, NE), Monday, November 22, 1937; pg. 3 Kroeger - Paul A beautiful wedding took place at the Evangelical Lutheran church (sic) six miles southwest of Plymouth when Miss Edna Paul, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Paul, and Mr. Albert Kroeger, son of Mrs. John Kroeger of Byron, Neb., were married on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 2 o'clock p.m., Rev. O.F. Reeg officiating. The double ring ceremony was used. The bridal party entered the church to the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march played by Miss Fern Becker. The bride was dressed in a train gown of white satin trimmed in Spanish lace and covered buttons to the waist line. She wore a long veil held in place with a crown of beaded pearls and orange blossoms and carried a bouquet of pink roses and white baby breath. Miss Hilda Kroeger, sister of the groom, acted as bridesmaid. She was dressed in a floor-length gown of pink taffeta and wore a wrist corsage of pink roses. Miss Laverna Paul, sister of the bride, acted as maid of honor. She wore a floor-length gown of nile green taffeta and wore a wrist corsage of yellow roses. Little Margaret Paul, sister of the bride, was flower girl. She was dressed in pale pink taffeta and carried a basket of white asters. The groom wore a grey suit. Otto Paul, brother of the bride, acted as best man, and wore oxford grey. Otto Kroeger, brother of the groom, acted as usher, and was dressed in oxford grey. At 6 o'clock a bountiful dinner was served to about sixty guests. The room had been decorated with streamers in pink and white, and the bride's table featured a beautiful wedding cake as centerpiece. Guests from a distance were: Mrs. John Kroeger and daughter Ida. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Fangmeier and son Louis, jr., Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kroeger and son Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Eiztmann (sic), Mr. and Mrs. Ed Fintel and family and Miss Elsie Mohrmann, all of Byron, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Schlueter and sons of Hardy, Neb., Mr. Henry Wittke and daughter Darlene of Junction City, Kas., Mr. and Mrs. William Paul and son Harold of Mahaska, Kas., Miss Ida Fangmeier of Hebron, Miss Alta Schroeder of Beatrice. The young couple will make their home on a farm 2 miles southwest of Byron, Neb. - Plymouth News. ========================= The Belleville Telescope (Belleville, KS), Thursday, October 14, 1993; pg. 19 Albert Kroeger Albert George Friedrich Kroeger, son of John and Sophia Eitzmann Kroeger, was born August 10, 1914 in Republic County, and died Sunday, October 3, 1993 at his home in Byron, Nebr., at the age of 79 years, one month and 23 days. He was baptized in 1914 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Byron, and confirmed in 1928. He attended Blue Mound Public School southwest of Byron. November 11, 1937, he was united in marriage to Edna Paul at Peace Lutheran Church, Plymouth, Nebr. This union was blessed with six children. He was active in the church, belonging to St. Paul's Lutheran in Byron for 50 years where he served on the church council from 1950-1953. He was presently a member of Abiding Word Lutheran Church, Deshler. Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Vernita; one son, Michael; four sisters, Ida Coulter, Emma Schlueter, Frieda Wittke and Ann Rademacher, one brother, Ernest. Survivors include his wife, Edna; three sons, Larry of Superior, Stephen of Ainsworth, Nebr., Douglas of Byron; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Joan) Wood of Billings, Mont.; seven grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; one step-great- grandson; one brother. Otto Kroeger of Lincoln, Nebr.; one sister, Hilda Marquart of Superior. A memorial service was held October 7 at Abiding Word Lutheran Church, Deshler, conducted by Pastor Randy Klug and Intern Pastor Randy Nelson. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Byron.
