Bio

Urbana – Lawrence C Kramer, 66, lifelong resident of the Urbana community, died Thursday afternoon in a Cedar Rapids hospital. He was born May 25, 1910, a son of Frank and Katherine May Kramer, and married Alice Willford at Spencers Grove on Dec. 15, 1934. He was employed as a carpenter and soil conservationist before retiring. In addition to his widow, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gary (Kathy) Durow of Center Point; four sons, Duane H., Keith F and Michael J. of Urbana and Brian G. of Center Point; 11 grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Clara Badding, Mrs. Lucille Beshaw and Mrs. Blaine (Margaret) Burrell of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Christena Smith of Urbana and Mrs. Arthur (Gertrude) Nichols of Marshall, Mo., and one brother, Ed of Urbana. The funeral mass will be at 10 am Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Urbana, with the Rev. Ronald J. Axen officiating, and burial in the church cemetery.
