John Edwin Scogin, 86, of Katy, TX, passed away January 06, 2010, in Katy, TX. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Timpson, TX, with Bro. Cliff Hughes officiating. Born October 12, 1923, in Shreveport, LA, John Edwin Scogin was the son of the late M. K. Scogin and Venie (Webb) Scogin. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University and had owned his own company which had shoe stores in Florida. He was also a World War II Army veteran. Survivors include daughters Lisa McCarty and husband Daniel E., Jr., of Katy, TX, and Linda McCall and husband Jim of Edmond, OK; 4 grandhchildren: Daniel E.
