Bio

Mr. Tumis was 88 years old of Houston, Texas. He joined the U.S. Navy after the attack on PEARL HARBOR, where he served on the battleship USS MISSISSIPPI from 1941 to 1944. He served in the Pacific Campaign and earned 9 battle stars. He is survived by his daughter, Pat; his sons, Harvey and John; his sister, Rita; his brother, Frank; his grandchildren; and his great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rosie; one sister and one brother. Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
