Born in the town of Hrotovice, county of Znojmo, Bohemia, Austrian Empire (now in the Czech Republic). ''''''''''' The Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), September 15, 1921, p. 1, col. 1 JAMES DIVIS Mr. James Divis died at his home, 5 miles south east of town, Tuesday afternoon after a brief illness. His death was caused by heart trouble. He was 62 years and 27 days old at time of his death. Funeral services take place this Thursday a.m. at the St. Luke's Catholic church at Loma and burial will be in the Catholic cemetery at Loma. Mr. Divis leaves to mourn his death, his wife and eleven children, Mrs. Ant. Pokorny, living near Waverly, Mrs. Chas. Janousek, near Loma; Mrs. Peter Dvorak, Mrs. Jos. Zima, James and Ludvik Divis and Mrs. Thos. Zima near Brainard; Mrs. Benes near Touhy, Mrs. Stanislav near Waverly and Albert and Adolf still at home.
