According to her marriage record she was born at Vepřikov, Bohemia, the daughter of John and Mary (Sekera) Dolezal. Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Bohaty, resident of Loma community for some 35 years, who passed away at her home in Loma on March 25 after illness of five months were held at St. Luke's Catholic church, Loma, at 10 a.m. Monday, March 28. Solemn requiem mass was celebrated by the pastor, Rev. Ekhaml, with Rev. Orzechowski of Brainard and Rev. Beranek of Wahoo as sub-deacons. A sermon in Bohemian was given by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Nemec of Wahoo. Music was by St. Luke's choir, with Mrs. Ralph Bartek organist, and Mrs. Frank J. Stoupa sang a solo of her own composition,"We'll Meet Again." Mrs. Bohaty's five stepsons, John, Charles, Joseph, Anton and Vincent Bohaty, and a stepson-in-law, John Jisa, were pallbearers. Burial was in St. Luke's cemetery. In attendance at the funeral from elsewhere were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Krejci of Ravenna, Mr. and Mrs. Napier, Sr., of Fremont and Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Becker of David City. Mrs. Bohaty was 70 years of age on March 3. She was born Josephine Dolezal March 3, 1878 [ sic ] in Bohemia, where she grew to womanhood. She came to America some 35 years ago and was united in marriage to John Bohaty, they residing on a farm near Loma for a number of years until retiring from farm life and moving to Loma, where Mr. Bohaty died in December, 1918. Surviving Mrs. Bohaty, besides the stepsons above named, are one son, Edward, who resided with his mother, one daughter, Mrs. Kristine Napier, who cared for her mother in her last illness, a stepson, Frank Bohaty, living in Florida, and two step-daughters, Mrs. Mary Jisa of Seward and Mrs. Anna Krejci of Ravenna. Mrs. Bohaty was a devoted wife and mother, a good neighbor and a devout Catholic and had many friends.
