Born in the village of Hartikovice, Moravia, Czech Republic. Married Frank Divis on November 10, 1896 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Brainard, Nebr. ''''''''''''''''''''' Seward County Independent (Seward, Nebr.), November 20, 1963, p. 6, col. 2 MRS. FANNY DIVIS Mrs. Fanny Divis, 88, died Nov. 14, at Seward Memorial Hospital. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sedlak in Moravia, March 5, 1875. They came to America when she was 17 years old, settling near Brainard. In 1895 she married Frank Divis at Brainard. They lived near there until 1915 when they settled in "A" township in Seward county. Mr. Divis died Nov. 1, 1915. Seven years ago Mrs. Divis moved to Bee. She had been ill for about a year and spent the last 3½ months in the hospital. Survivors are four sons, Alois, Peetz, Colo., Frank, Bee; William, Valparaiso; Joseph, Lincoln; three daughters, Mrs. Victor Valla (Agnes), Scapoose, Ore.; Mrs. Adolph Walla (Hattie), Seward; Frances, Bee; a sister, Mrs. Tillie Novak, Bristow, 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. Father Gregory Petrus conducted the service at St. Wenceslaus Catholic church at Bee Saturday, Nov. 16. Rosary was held at Wood Chapel Friday evening. Burial was in Loma cemetery. Pallbearers were Edmund Duffek, Robert Ponec, Lawrence, Joseph, and John Suchy and James Kouma. All of the immediate family were present for the service.
