Alice K. Houdek, age 91 of Ennis died Friday, May 18, 2007 at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie. She was born on September 21, 1915 in Ennis to Frank and Frances (Valek) Zapletal. She attended Laneview and St. John Schools. Alice married Jerry Houdek on September 25, 1934 in Ennis. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church. She is survived by two children Irene Trojacek of Ennis and Kenneth Houdek and his wife Patsy of Boyce, one sister Rosie Bacak of Bardwell, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren,2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry in 1995, 3 brothers, Willie, Frank and Jerry Zapletal and three sisters, Frances Zapletal, Mary Langer and Annie Betik. Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:00 AM, Monday, May 21, 2007 at St. John Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery.
