Bio
John Albert Vrla passed away August 10, 2007 at his Ennis home. He was born in Ennis on July 17, 1921. He served in the United States Army Air Corp. during World War II. Following his return to Texas, he worked for TexLite, Koral, and Ennis Independent School District and St. John's Catholic School before his retirement. He is survived by his wife of sixty one years Justine of Ennis; his children John and wife Pat Vrla of Irving, Texas; Steven Vrla of Ennis; Mary and husband David Babek of Arlington, Texas; Jeanette and husband Donald Smith of Ennis; Christopher and wife Julie Vrla of Coppell, Texas; ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his strong faith, devotion to family, love of Czech music, and open and welcoming hospitality. John never met a stranger. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at St. John Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St Joseph Cemetery.
