Frances Dulak "Fannie", 92, of Axtell, passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elk, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki officiating. Burial will follow in St. Martin's Cemetery at Tours. Rosary will be recited 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, followed by visitation until 8 p.m. at the Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel. Frances was born in Axtell, Texas, to the late Frank J. and Mary (Marek) Mach. She went to school at T.K. and Axtell High School. Frances married Frank Dulak on Aug. 17, 1937, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elk. They lived in the Tokio community for seven years and then moved to Axtell in 1944. She was a very active partner in all aspects of their farm operation and continued on even after the death of her husband in 1979. Frances was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church all of her life where she belonged to St. Ann's Altar Society. She also loved her fishing, needle work, cooking and had a real green thumb in gardening and growing flowers. She loved her fishing so much that she would drive her electric scooter to the tank to fish and also work in the yard sometimes getting stuck; then having to push her Life Line button to get rescued. She and one of her best friends, Mary Pedigo, volunteered many hours preparing for Meals on Wheels in Bellmead and also volunteering at the HOT Fair in the art and crafts department, helping them set up booths. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend, and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Sophia Thun, Mary Bartosh, Annie Riley, Bertha Rauschhuber and Elizabeth Kubitza; and brothers, Joe, John, Frank and Jim Mach. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Dulak and wife, Janet, of San Antonio, Eugene Dulak, of Axtell and Frank Dulak and wife, Marie, of Bryan; daughters, Frances Baker and husband, Calvin, of Axtell, Evelyn Clawson and husband, Dorian, of Mart and Helen Grandee and husband, Jackie, of Port Lavaca; grandchildren, Calvin Jr., Bobby, Michael, Marianne, Jerry Lynn, Angela, Chris, Melissa, Laura, James, Brandi, Juli, Crissy and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Clint, Nick, Calvin III, Andrea, Kacee, John Michael, Brandon, Tori, Joseph, Troy, Daryl, Jaylon, Elsia, Kaylee, Jacob, Clint and Shelby; great-great-grandchildren, Gavin, Braydon, Bella and Michael William; sisters, Lillie Mach Steele and husband, George, of Dallas and Millie Mach Dulak, of Corpus Christi; many nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends.
