Brian Douglas Marak Sr. (March 8, 1958 - December 24, 2007) Brian Douglas Marak, age 49, passed away Monday, December 24, 2007. Born in Georgetown on March 8, 1958 to John and Elizabeth Marak. He attended Georgetown High School. He was an automobile air conditioning mechanic until becoming blind thus preventing his working. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Marak, son Brian Marak Jr. of Florence, daughter Courtney Marak of Georgetown and his brother Stanley Marak of Georgetown, sisters include Connie Marak of Austin, Shirley Williams of Georgetown, Susan Sohns of Round Rock and Carol Hjornevik of Round Rock. His grandchildren are Kayla Wade, Kamden Wade,and Lily Marak and he had numerous nieces and nephews and many acquaintances and friends. His father, John Marak, preceded him in death in 1982. Brian was a member of Zion Luthern Church. He professed his faith in God and he maintained a positive attiitude inspite of his failing health and inablility to see. Brian worked as an electrician at IBW of Austin in his early years. Then he worked in the auto air industry at S & S Auto Air for many years. He loved to work on cars and on his Harley Davidson, which he enjoyed riding. Although he lost his eyesight, he continued to do many things. He loved more than anything when friends and family would come over to watch wrestling, just sit and talk for hours, listen to old classic rock and country music and camping trips he took with his son. He will be missed dearly and his family will always remember and cherish the memories they shared with him forever. Visitation will be held on Friday December 28, 2007 from 6-8P.M. at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday December 29, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Robert C. Greene officiating. Honored to serve as pallbearers are; Little Brian Marak, John Marak, Brandon Allen, Leslie Williams, Travis Light, Nathan Southworth, Scott Wimberly and Richard Sohns. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Walburg. Arrangements by The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 N. IH 35, Georgetown, Texas 78628.512.869.8888.
