Bio

Donnie Slovak, age 52, passed away in Dallas after a battle with cancer on November 16, 2009. He was born in Ennis on February 16, 1957 to Emil L. and Earline L. (Mach) Slovak. He attended school in Ennis, was a member of St. John Catholic Church, and worked at LTV AEROSPACE in Grand Prairie for 15 years. Donnie is survived by his mother, Earline Slovak; 2 sons, Donald Slovak, Jr. of Italy, and Marcus Surles of Waxahachie; 3 daughters, Amber Baggerly and her husband Greg of Maypearl, Kimberly Hudson and her husband Roger of Waxahachie, and Amanda Grant of Rice; grandchildren, Tripp, Addisyn, Morgan, Clayton, Thomas, Jr., Bailey, Tiffany, Jessica, and Marcus, Jr.; great grandchildren, Jadin, Mason, and Carson; 4 brothers, Emil Ray Slovak of Corsicana, Charles Slovak and his wife Pam of Ennis, Larry Slovak of Ennis, Bobby Joe Slovak and his wife Rita of Ennis; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Emil L. Slovak, and Gwenolyn Gean, mother of his children. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at St. John Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Ennis.
