Published in Amarillo Sunday News Globe, August 2, 1964) LAKEVIEW - John Bunyon Duren, 66, of Lakeview died at 1:15 a.m. Saturday in Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo. He was owner and operator of Duren Grocery and Service Station here. Mr. Duren was born March 17. 1898 in Bulcher, Tex., and married Florence May Godfrey, Sept. 16, 1922 in Memphis. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge, Memphis Chapter and Council of the Dallas Scottish Rite, Khiva Temple of Amarillo, Lakeview Odd Fellows Lodge. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. today in the Lakeview Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert Griffin, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. H.W. Hill of Roaring Springs. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Spicer Funeral Home. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted. Surviving are the wife; daughters, Mrs. J.R. Moore of Lakeview, Mrs. William Lavender of Tulia, and Mrs. Coy Johnson of Memphis; sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Ray of Morton; Mrs. Winnie Williams of Maxwell, Calif.; one brother, G.M. Duren of Memphis;seven grandchildren and one geatgrandchild. *******************************************************
