Mrs. Gosdin of Lakeview Dies Was Prominent Hall County Resident; Funeral Held Mrs. Elizabeth Callie Gosdin, 59 years of age and a prominent Lakeview citizen, died at her home in Lakeview some time Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. She was found dead by a daughter, Miss Lucy Gosdin, at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning. The deceased was the widow of Dr. W.S. Gosdin, who preceded her in death in April, 1927. Funeral services for Mrs. Gosdin were conducted from the First Baptist Church of Lakeview Thursday afternoon, September 10, at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. Clarence Brister, pastor. Interment was in the Union Hill Cemetery, Lakeview, with King's Mortuary in charge. Pallbearers were Rufus James, Bill Williamson, Don Wright, H.L. Davenport, Herbert Payne, and Tom Luttrell. Those in charge of the floral offerings were Mrs. Ben Smith, Mrs. R.A. Bowerman, Mrs. C.B. Lively, Mrs. Ward McMurry, Mrs. H.N. Davis, Mrs. J.R. Middleton, Mrs. Tom Luttrell, Mrs. F.J. Schillinger, Mrs. R.M. Holt, Mrs. O.L. Favors, Mrs. Dixie L. Payne, and Mrs. D.H. Davenport. Mrs. Gosdin was born February 11, 187, in Cooke County, Texas. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Duren, and was united in marriage to W.S. Gosdin on December 23, 1893. She had been a member of the Baptist Church for over a quarter of a century at the time of her death. Survivors are one son, Clarence Gosdin of Lakeview; four daughters, Miss Lucy Gosdin and Mrs. Ott Bevers of Lakeview, Mrs. C.C. Meacham and Mrs. R.S. Patrick of Memphis; five sisters, and grandchildren.
