The body will be taken overland to Shiner, Texas, where funeral services and interment Will take place Saturday morning. Arrangements by the Angelus Funeral home. San Antonio Light, October 18, 1946 ---------- Another one of Shiner's former residents was placed at rest Saturday morning at 9:30 when funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Annie Glomb Vinklarek, age 82 years. Mrs. Vinklarek passed away at her home in San Antonio Thursday, Oct. 17, at 9 a.m. The last rites were conducted from the Eschenburg Funeral Parlor continuing to Shiner Catholic Church for requiem high mass. The Rev. Leo Moczygemba officiating. Interment was in Shiner Catholic Cemetery with her grandsons Oscar, Edwin, Joe and Frank Glomb and Eddie Kokas and Laurence Vrazel serving as casket bearers. Mrs. Vinklarek was born in Czechoslovakia July 26, 1864. Her maiden name was Annie Lanca. She came to America at an early age and was married to Frank Glomb in 1882. Thirteen children were born to this union, six of whom with their father preceded their mother and wife to the grave. Those who survive are Frank Glomb, Mrs. John (Pauline) Kokas, Shiner; Mrs. Ed. (Mary) Jaks, El Campo; Eddie Glomb, Pacific Palisades, Calif.; Mrs. Dennis (Gussie) Lampkin, San Antonio; Mrs. Louis (Frances) Vrazel, Corpus Christi and Miss Emily Glomb, San Antonio. After the death of Mr. Glomb, Mrs. Glomb was married to Joe Vinklarek, who preceded her to the grave. To this union one son, Capt. Emil Vinklarek of Honolulu survives. He visited his mother in recent months and spent each day of his leave at her bedside. Grandchildren who survive number 44 and great-grandchildren 22. There are no brothers and sisters surviving, she being the last of her family. Death came as a relief to the deceased as she had been ill a long time. The past six weeks she was confined to her bed. During this time her daughter, Miss Emily, gave her mother tender and affectionate care. Mrs. Vinklarek was widely known throughout this community where practically all of her life was spent. After leaving Shiner some five years ago she resided one year in Gonzales, two years in Yoakum and the past two years in San Antonio. Mrs. Vinklarek had been very active in all the duties of home and church throughout her long life. To all who knew and loved this good lady, and to her immediate family and near relatives, we extend sincere sympathy. Shiner Gazette, Shiner, Texas, Thursday, October 24, 1946.
