Funeral services for Mavis Oleta "Dolly" Wilhite Chapman, 93, of Princeton, formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tony Linton and the Rev. Mike Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeway Cemetery with Troy Chapman, Jimmy Don Green, Terry Tidwell, Marcus Tidwell, Greg Grey and Mike Hathcock serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Doss and D. H. Love. There will be no formal visitation. Mrs. Chapman died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at Denton Regional Medical Center. She was born on Feb. 12, 1916, in Hopkins County the daughter of Matthew and Alice (Cox) Wilhite. She married Aubrey Eugene Chapman on Aug. 28, 1932, in Hugo, Okla. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1995. Mrs. Chapman worked in retail for over 20 years and retired from J.C. Penney. Mrs. Chapman was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by one son, Richard Chapman and wife Belinda of Georgetown; one daughter, Patricia Chapman of Princeton; grandchildren Jimmy and Tresa Green of Aubrey, Randy and Jennifer Green of Austin, Dee and Sean Hennigan of Allen, Shauna Turner of Arlington, Troy Chapman of Georgetown, Amy Deel of Pflugerville, and Brian and Leah Chapman of Burleson; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Larry Chapman on May 25, 1969; four sisters, Willie Patterson, Jessie Rhodes, Opal Herman and Estelle Love; and one brother, Rudolph Wilhite.
