Frances Arlene Baker 1924-2009 Funeral services for 20-year Bishop resident Frances Arlene Baker will be held at 11 a.m. today at Brune Mortuary Chapel in Bishop. The Rev. Peter Thomsen of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will take place at East Line Street Cemetery. Born in Lebanon, N.H. on April 24, 1924, Frances died Dec. 9, 2009 at her home in Sutherlin, Ore. She was 85. Frances and her husband John and family moved to Bishop in 1965. She was active in the Senior Center and the Hospice of the Owens Valley. She was also active in the Nazarene Church and the First Presbyterian Church. After her husband passed away, Frances moved to Oregon. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, John, and son, Steven. She is survived by her sons, James Baker of Eldorado Hills and Michael Baker of Clinton, Iowa; daughter, Pamela Wipf or Portland, Ore.; and seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren Inyo Register Dec 12, 2009
