Pamela Wipf of Sutherlin, Oregon, age 74, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 8, 2018. She was born to John and Opal Baker August 31, 1944, in Southgate, California. She was raised by father, John and mother, Francis alongside younger brothers, James, Michael and Steven. She attended San Marcos High where she received a journalism scholarship. She attended Moorpark College and earned an AA degree in Communications. Pamela married Peter Wipf on December 12, 1966, and together raised three daughters in Southern California. Pamela worked for the Seventh Adventist Healthcare system for 15 years and was involved in children’s ministries for over 40 years. She passionately poured herself and into the lives of many children and their families. Pamela is best known by her friends and family as a fabulous listener, often giving out clarifying wisdom and insightful advice. She would often times stay up into the wee hours, praying and texting her love and inspiration out to family and friends. Known as the “mother to all,” Pamela often knew when loved ones were in need of support and she seemingly knew exactly when to send the right text or word of encouragement. She will be missed by many of whom will always recall her texts with fond and warm smiles. Pamela is survived by her husband, Peter Wipf of Sutherlin, OR; her daughters and son-in-laws are as follows: Jim and Sharon Stanphill of Sutherlin, Oregon; Lee and Sharri Vandall of Wolf Point, MT; and Mark and Shelli Stewart of Roseburg, OR; her nine grandchildren, of whom adored and know her, affectionately as “Grammie” are: Elisabeth, Benjamin and Rachel Stanphill, George and Brittney Lash, Daniel, Hannah and Ireland Vandall and Ryan Stewart. They will miss her many texts and beautiful smile! Pamela adored her siblings and visited and spoke with them on the phone often; James Baker, Michael and (Julie) Baker and (Arlan) and Michele Hawthorne. Her beloved nieces and nephews, Mike and Rhonda Smith, Joe and Nicole Hartford, Mauricio and Chantel Rizo, Melissa Baker, Andre and Jessica Rivera and Jose Rivera along with their beautiful families were all Pam’s favorite kids! Pamela was the matriarch of her family and will be missed. Having known that they will see her again in heaven, her family will miss her but know she is rejoicing with our Lord and Savior! God is good all the time! Services will be held at Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses 965 W. Harvard Ave. Roseburg, OR, with a viewing Friday, October 12, 2018, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. and a memorial service Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. and graveside service immediately following.
