Bio

Daughter of Marmaduke D. "Duke" and Isabella "Annie Belle" McGraw Alford. Her parents both died before 1880 leaving five children orphaned. Most likely, her year of birth was 1869 as she was reported as "Alsey E. Alfred," age 1, in the 1870 Nacogdoches County, Texas census. She first married Jesse B. Blackburn on 15 February 1892 in Angelina County, Texas. Her second marriage was to J. A. Harper on 25 January 1898 in Angelina County, Texas. Her third marriage was to widower, John Jordan King, on 17 August 1899 in Angelina County, Texas.
