Bio

Jessie B. Reier, 95, of Kearney, formerly of Sumner, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born April 3, 1914, in Odessa to John and Jessie (Davis) Patterson. On June 22, 1935, she married Kenneth Reier. He died Oct. 24, 1981. Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen Schneller and her husband, Carl, of Holyoke, Colo., and Barbara Markham of Glendive, Mont.; son, Gerald Reier and his wife, Lynda, of Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She received her education in rural schools near Trumbull. She and her husband farmed southwest of Sumner for more than 40 years until his death. She was employed as an electronic assembler at Plectron Manufacturing until she retired in 1976. She continued living on the farm until she moved to Kearney in 2001. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Kenneth in 1962. Published in the Kearney Hub on 2/11/2010
