Published in The Kilgore (Texas) News-Herald on Tuesday 18 March 1997: BILLY JOE DIVINEY GLADEWATER – Services for Billy Joe Diviney, 68, of Gladewater, are scheduled fro 2 p.m. today in the Stone-Goodwin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. L. V. Youngblood officiating. Burial will be in Gladewater Memorial Park. Mr. Diviney died Saturday in a Tyler hospital. Born May 3, 1928 in Haskell, he lived in Gladewater for three years, moving from Starrville. He was a member of the Church of God, and retired from Tyler Pipe Industries as supervisor after 17 years. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Diviney, Gladewater; two sons, Joe Don Diviney, Gladewater and Larry Diviney, Ringold, Ga.; a daughter, Linda Diviney, Garland; four brothers, Clifford Diviney, Grapevine, Dean Diviney, Denton, Jerry Diviney, Anna, and Robert Diviney, Albertville, Ala; three sisters, Earlene Longcrier, Utah, and Lois Pierce, Tyler, and Mary Nell Eaton, Albertville, Ala.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
