Obituary from Cherryvale Republican, Wed., Jan. 23, 1907 BURIAL OF E. A. SANFORD. Buried in Spring Hill Cemetery-Rev. Jones Preached the Funeral. The remains of E. A. Sanford, brother of Chas. Sanford, of this city, were interred Sunday at Spring Hill cemetery, in the Coal Creek neighborhood, Rev. C. H. Jones of this city, an old time friend of the deceased, conducting the services. E. A. Sanford was born in McDonough county, Illinois, Oct. 4, 1848. In 1861 he joined the Union Baptist church, and when he came to Kansas cast his lot with the United Brethren organization, of which he was ever after a member. In 1867 he was married to Mary Waller, and a year after marriage he moved to Kansas. He lived here about five years, went back to Illinois, where he resided until 1881, when he again came to Kansas and settled in Montgomery county. Shortly there after his wife died, leaving seven motherless children. In the year 1885 he was married to Belle Harris, who with eight children, survives him.—Independence Star.
