Mary Jo Slingsby, departed this life and entered The Eternal Home on December 3, 2009,at her home in Broken Bow, Nebraska. Mary Jo was 49 years of age having been born on July 26, 1960, in Sargent, Nebraska to Ted and Mary (Moore) Vose. Mary attended Westerville and Lincoln grade schools before graduating from Ansley (Nebraska) High School in 1978. After her marriage, she attended Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte, Nebraska and played volleyball. After leaving college, she spent the remainder of her life as a farm wife while working at numerous jobs. She was active in her community. She was a member of the FFA Mothers group. She helped with the school plays by painting the backdrops; she also helped put a video together for Veterans Day because she loved her country and loved and appreciated those who served. She was a past member of the Square Pegs Club. She was an active member of the Ansley Christian Church and helped with ABC, VBS and Pible Bible Camp. She enjoyed spending her time with family, friends and children. She enjoyed attending their games and various events. Her hobbies included photography, painting, drawing and crafts. Mary Jo was welcomed into The Heavenly Homeby her father, Ted Vose; sister, Patti Ruzicka; and son, Travis Slingsby and all the other Family Saints who have gone before. Mary Jo is survived by: her husband, Dean Slingsby of Broken Bow, Nebraska; son, Taylor Slingsby of Broken Bow, Nebraska; daughters and sons-in-law, Jessie and Chris Watts of Kearney, Nebraska, Ashley and Josh Vaughn and Darcey and Selvin Mendez, all of Lincoln, Nebraska; her mother, Mary Voss of Arcadia, Nebraska; brother and sister-in-law, Sid and Cindy Vose of Ansley, Nebraska; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Howard Dondlinger of Kearney , Nebraska and Mickie and Vic Florea of Stapleton, Nebraska and a host of friends and relatives.
