REST IN PEACE.. Robert Karl Pekar, 66, of Temple died Monday, Nov. 30, in a Temple hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Temple with Father Ranjan Cletus officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. Mr. Pekar was born to Charlie Joe and Frances Ann Zak Pekar on July 17, 1943, in Taylor. He was a Temple resident since 1962. He married Carlette Mokry on Jan. 1, 1966, in Granger. He was an Army veteran, and was a member of VFW Post No. 1820, the DAV and the Paralyzed Veterans of America. Prior to his retirement, he was a crew leader at Wilsonart in Temple. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Ann Sumners of Belton and Lois Ann Tippit of Gatesville; a son, Kenneth Bobo of Walnut Hill, Fla.; two brothers, Bart Pekar of Temple and Johnnie Pekar of California; eight sisters, Helen Malcik of Red Ranger, Georgie Dubcak of League City, and Alice Welborn, Frances Polasek, Matylda Klepac, Shirley Hutka, Mary Martinez and Susie Strakos, all of Temple; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with a rosary at 7 p.m.
