Bio

Jeffie Dingler, 45, of Route 1, Brownsboro, died Sunday at 9:30 p.m. in the Veteran's hospital in Temple following an extended illness. Funeral services were set for 2 p.m. Thursday in the Calvary Baptist church of Brownsboro, with the Rev. Darrell Lewis, the Rev. Pete Chapman and the Rev. Billy Thomas officiating. Burial was in the New York cemetery under the direction of the Carroll and Lehr Funeral Home. Mr. Dingler was born January 5, 1932. He was a native of Larue. He was a graduate of Brownsboro High School. He attended Henderson County Junior College and Tyler Junior College before receiving his degree in Education from Sul Ross State College in Alpine. He was employed as a teacher in the Athens school system and taught as a coach at Athens Junior High school. Mr. Dingler was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the VFW and was a former commander of VFW post 8562 in Eagle Pass. He also served as service officer for that post. Mr. Dingler was a member of the Calvary Baptist church of Brownsboro and was the son of the late Jeff L. Dingler who died August 17, 1961. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Eugenia Dingler; his former wife Mrs. Jessilene Dingler; two daughters, Tina Dingler and Rebel Dingler; two sons, Len Dingler and Chance Dingler, all of the home; three uncles, three aunts, eight nieces, two nephews and a host of cousins and friends. Pallbearers were Charles Rector, Richard Echols, Charles Tidmore, Arland Boles, Paul Boles, Chester Jackson, James Hughes and Luther Alexander. Honorary Pallbearers were E.L.
