Rayford M. Novy, 70, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Rayford was born on November 3, 1939, in Ennis, Texas, the son of Rudolph and Annie Krajca Novy. He grew up in Ennis and attended Ennis High School. On November 3, 1962, he married Helen Trojacek and they made their home on the Novy Family farm. Rayford worked for the Texas Department of Transportation for thirty seven years before his retirement in 2002. He was a life long rancher and enjoyed raising cattle. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church. Rayford is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Helen Novy; two sons: James Novy, of Waxahachie and Ronnie Novy, of Ennis; two daughters: Deanna, and her husband, Thomas Betik, Elaine, and her husband, Ron Kasowski, of Ennis; four granddaughters: Alexandra, Kristine and Katherine Betik and Rachel Kasowski; one grandson, Jake Kasowski, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Helen Rogers. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Antonio Ormaza, officiating. Pallbearers will be: Mike Trojacek, Charles Fowler, Robert Kubelka, Clarence Laza, Gregory Pechacek and Len McCoy. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jake Kasowski. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
