The Carnegie Herald Mrs. Pennington's Rites April 3, In Methodist Church Services for Mrs. Ada Lee Pennington, 71, were at 4 p.m. Sunday in the First Methodist church. Mrs. Pennington died in her home one West First Friday after a brief illness. Rev. Roy C. Rowlan, minister, conducted the services and burial was in the Carnegie cemetery. The Pitchers were in charge of arrangements. Ada Lee Mabra was born Feb. 6, 1883, in Dallas county, Texas where she grew to young womanhood. She was married to Ernest C. Pennington Dec. 23, 1900, at Oak Cliff, Texas, and to them five children were born. The Penningtons came to Oklahoma in February 1901, and located in the Mount Vernon community northwest of Carnegie. Mr. Pennington died in August, 1940. Mrs. Pennington moved to Carnegie to make her home two years ago. She had united with the Methodist church in the Cottonwood community, but in recent years had attended the Mt. Vernon Presbyterian church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Beulah Dudgeon, of the home, and Mrs. F.L. Dudgeon, Dill City; three sons, Jimmie C. and Roy Pennington, Mountain View, and Clarence Pennington, Carnegie; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Gussie Hightower, Waskom, Texas; Mrs. Lena Brown, DeSota, Texas, and Mrs. Maude Keener, Gainsville, Texas; also four brothers, Frank Mabra, Lancaster, Texas; Ed Mabra, Blanket, Texas; Jim Mabra, Waxahachie, Texas, and Mike Mabra, Pittsburg, Calif. Relatives here from out of state for the services Sunday included Mrs. Maude Keener, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mabra, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mabra, J.T. Mabra, Mr. and Mrs. McDonald and Mrs. Lena Brown, from Texas; Mrs. John M. Richards, Alexandria, Va., and Mrs. Retha Joy Treadaway, Lometa, Calif.
