Estelle Foitek Pavlas, age 80 of Abbott, passed away early Thursday, November 28, 1996, at West Community Hospital. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. November 29 at Aderhold Funeral home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. November 30 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with the Rev. Melvin Dornak officiating. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Pavlas was born April 29, 1916, in Ross, the daughter of Frank and Albina Kucera. She married Frank V. Foitek on November 6, 1934, in West. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1975. She then married Victor Pavlas on September 16, 1978, in Abbott. She was a seamstress for Wolfs Mfg. in West for many years before she retired in 1984. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 829. She is survived by her husband, Victor Pavlas of Abbott; four sons, Frank J. Foitek of DeRidder, Louisiana, Jerry R. Foitek of Ennis, William G. Foitek of Ross and Daniel J. Foitek of Waco; four daughters, Rosalie A. Marek of Northcrest, JoAnn Wolf of West, Patricia Emily Parma of Elm Mott and Donna M. Charanza of West; one brother, Wilson Kucera of Penelope; three sisters, Polly Volcik of West, Frankie Mae Mikeska of Abbott and Betty Jo Kaska of Fort Worth; 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Joe Foitek, Jerry Michael Foitek, Eddie Marek, Thomas Wolf, Jr., Jason Parma and Eric Charanza. Honorary pallbearers were James Foitek, Larry Marek, Ricky Wolf, Johnny Landfried and Brian Foitek. Aderhold Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
