Willie Zahirniak Dies Tuesday; Rites Thursday Funeral services for Mr. Willie W. Zahirniak, 62, were held Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. James Quilter officiating. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was held Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. at the residence. Mr. Zahirniak was born in Czechoslovakia Sept. 18, 1896, and has lived in West for 55 years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie Zahirniak; four sons, Ernest, Joe E., Willie Jr. of West, and Robert of Waco; three daughters, Mrs. John P. Sulak of West, Mrs. Lawrence Hessel of Waco, and Mrs. James Warner of Charleston, South Carolina; one brother, Joe Zahirniak of West and one sister, Mrs. Anna Chabisek of San Antonio. Pallbearers were Walter Hessel, H.H. Popp, A.A. Gerik, Frank Roznos, John Sulak, Sr., and Anton Pavlas. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 69, No. 15, Edition 1, Friday, August 14, 1959, page 1.
