Willie John Vitek, age 78, of Allen died Monday, June 19 in a McKinney hospital. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celerated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, with Rev. Henry Petter and Rev. Thomas Cloherty as co-celebrants. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mr. Vitek was born August 16, 1910 in Fayetteville, Texas. He married Albina Sykora in 1934 in Penelope. He lived in La Grange and Plano for a number of years and had lived in Allen the past 20 years. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Allen. Mr. Vitek is survived by his wife, Albina Vitek of Allen; a son, Henry Vitek and daughter-in-law Helen Vitek of Allen; a sister, Marcella Liska of La Grange and two grandsons, Randy Vitek and his wife Amy of Plano, and Mark Vitek of Allen. Pallbearers were Edmund Sykora, Willie Rejcek, Randy Vitek, Ernest Sykora, Frank Vanek and Mark Vitek. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 99, No. 25, Edition 1, Thursday, June 29, 1989, page 6.
